Cosmetic dentistry treatments are designed to correct or cover aesthetic issues using state-of-the-art materials and technologies. This blog is a short fact sheet on a number of the most popular cosmetic treatments used today.

What it is: teeth whitening treatment

What it does: lightens existing stains and discoloration on and in teeth

How it works: our dental team applies a whitening gel to your teeth. The gel activates, and penetrates the topmost layers of the tooth’s structure. Many patients are able to whiten their teeth by several shades after just one treatment, but we can complete consecutive treatments in order to achieve full results.

What it is: dental bonding

What it does: covers cosmetic problems with dental resin, or fills and corrects dental damage with custom-shaped resin.

How it works: our dental team will custom-shade dental resin to match your enamel shade. Then we will place the resin on the appropriate spots on your teeth. The dental resin is cured, and it hardens and bonds onto the tooth. Once complete, dental bonding looks just like natural dental enamel, and is sturdy enough to stand up to your daily routine.

What it is: the dental LUMINEERS

What it does: the dental LUMINEER is a whole porcelain cosmetic restoration that completely covers the visible surfaces of a patient’s tooth.

How it works: our dental team will take measurements of relevant teeth, your LUMINEERS will be crafted to suit your specifications. LUMINEERS are shaded, shaped, and sized to coordinate with the patient’s existing smile. Consequently, you can use anywhere from one LUMINEER to an entire set of LUMINEERS to improve your dental aesthetics. Once the individual restoration is complete, our dentist permanently attaches the LUMINEER to the tooth with dental adhesive.
